Addressing the Firestorm: Ask Angela Tackles the Disparaging Article Against the Historic Greenwood Chamber of Commerce

Tulsa, OK – March 5, 2025

On Thursday, March 6, 2025, at 9:00 AM CST, Ask Angela with Dr. Angela K. Chambers will take a bold stand on The Greenwood Beat – WFPG, addressing the controversial and misleading article published by a Black media outlet against the Historic Greenwood Chamber of Commerce—the organization representing the original Black Wall Street District.

This irresponsible and damaging article, riddled with falsehoods and misrepresentations, not only attacked the Historic Greenwood Chamber of Commerce but also harmed our entire community. The consequences of such reckless journalism extend far beyond the printed words—it threatens the unity, progress, and economic stability of Black Wall Street and its ongoing legacy.

The Call for Truth and Accountability

It is outrageous that a Black-owned media outlet would choose to publish an article that seeks to discredit and tear down one of the most significant institutions working to preserve and promote the legacy of Greenwood.

Instead of standing in solidarity and uplifting the businesses, organizations, and leaders committed to revitalizing the spirit of Black Wall Street, this outlet chose to spread lies, confusion, and division—an action that should outrage every member of our community.

We should all be demanding an apology, not only for the Historic Greenwood Chamber of Commerce but for the entire community that continues to fight for progress, truth, and economic empowerment.

Time to Move Forward with Truth

While this article attempted to derail the efforts of Greenwood’s leadership, we must not be distracted from the work that still needs to be done.

On Ask Angela, Dr. Angela K. Chambers will set the record straight and lead an open, transparent, and honest discussion on:

✅ The truth about the Historic Greenwood Chamber of Commerce and its mission.

✅ The impact of misleading media and why fact-checking is essential.

✅ How divisive narratives hurt our community and what we must do to move forward.

✅ A call for responsible journalism within Black media.

Join the Conversation!

This is a discussion that everyone in the community needs to hear. If you care about truth, integrity, and the future of Black Wall Street, tune in and participate in this critical conversation.

The Path Forward: Rebuilding and Strengthening Our Community

As we expose the truth and demand accountability, we must also focus on solutions. This is not just about responding to negativity—it is about coming together as a community, ensuring that Greenwood’s legacy remains intact, and continuing the work of economic and cultural revitalization.

Instead of tearing each other down, it’s time to build together. Let’s have the difficult but necessary conversations. Let’s demand better journalism, accurate representation, and unity within Black media and leadership.

Join Dr. Angela K. Chambers and The Greenwood Beat – WFPG as we move forward with truth, resilience, and commitment to a stronger Black Wall Street.

Mareo Johnson Hosts Dominique Clarke on ‘The Greenwood Source,’ Prepares for Historic Interview with Tulsa’s First Black Mayor

Tulsa, OK – The Greenwood Source, the engaging and thought-provoking radio talk show hosted by Mareo Johnson, aired its second episode on The Greenwood Beat – WFPG: The Voice of Greenwood, continuing its mission to bring insightful discussions to the community.

For this episode, Johnson welcomed Dominique Clarke, a key figure at Tulsa Remote, to address the program’s role in the city and clarify misconceptions surrounding it.

Setting the Record Straight on Tulsa Remote

Tulsa Remote is a nationally recognized initiative designed to attract remote workers to Tulsa by offering relocation incentives. While some have expressed concerns about the program’s impact on long-term residents, Clarke took the opportunity to clear the air. She explained that Tulsa Remote is not about displacing locals but rather about adding to the city’s growth by bringing in professionals who want to contribute to the economy and culture of Tulsa.

She also highlighted the ways in which the program fosters community connections, ensuring that newcomers are integrating into—not replacing—the fabric of Tulsa. Clarke’s discussion provided much-needed clarity on the program’s goals and its positive influence on the local business landscape.

Mareo Johnson Continues to Amplify Greenwood’s Voice

With just two episodes in, The Greenwood Source is already proving to be a must-listen for those interested in business, culture, and social progress in Tulsa’s historic Greenwood District. Johnson’s ability to ask the right questions and give his guests a platform to speak openly makes the show a valuable asset to the community.

His conversation with Clarke was both informative and timely, reflecting ongoing discussions about Tulsa’s economic development and cultural preservation. By tackling topics that directly impact Greenwood and its residents, Johnson ensures that The Greenwood Source remains a key player in the dialogue about the future of Tulsa.

Up Next: A Historic Conversation with Mayor Monroe Nichols

Looking ahead, The Greenwood Source is set to host one of its most significant interviews yet. On February 13, 2025, at 6 PM, Mareo Johnson will sit down with Monroe Nichols, Tulsa’s newly elected first Black mayor.

Mayor Nichols has already made waves with his ambitious plan to end homelessness in Tulsa, and he will join Johnson to discuss his vision, policies, and the impact his leadership will have on the city. This interview promises to be a crucial conversation for Tulsa residents, especially as Nichols’ historic election marks a new chapter in the city’s leadership.
