Host Francetta stated at the launch of the station that one of her goals was to bring back the gospels on Sunday morning. She has done just that! Songs like “My Soul has been Anchored” sang by many of the greats in the gospel industry made the playlist for this Sunday. Another old favorite “Cooling Water” was played in the elven o’clock hour and just like that everything was sounding real good.

The Greenwood Beat – WFPG launched on June 8, 2023 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at its location on the Historic Greenwood Ave., also known as “The Original Black Wall Street.” WFPG is the first black, women-owned radio station in Oklahoma. The station is located in the buildings owned and operated by The Greenwood Chamber of Commerce (Greenwood Chamber). Established in 1926, the Greenwood Chamber is the oldest black economic chamber in the United States.
