Local Artist Featured in New Curated Antique Store on Historic Greenwood Avenue

In January, Dr. Angela K. Chambers, CEO of The Greenwood BeatWFPG, announced the opening of a new store called “Buying Time on Greenwood” on historic Greenwood Avenue. This curated antique shop offers a unique selection of antiques, gifts, and black artwork inspired by the original Black Wall Street or historic Greenwood District. One of the featured artists at Buying Time on Greenwood is Eddye K. Allen (Eddye K).

On Black Wall Street, Buying Time on Greenwood visitors can admire a large painting of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., depicting various stages of his life. This stunning artwork was created by Eddie K., showcasing the talent of local black artists.

Buying Time on Greenwood provides a platform for artists to recreate a part of history and tell stories through their work. The store will showcase these items, hold special showings and events, and even include them for sale on their website and in various auctions.

As a new addition to the legacy of Black Wall Street, Buying Time on Greenwood aims to continue the rich history of the Greenwood District. In addition to artwork, customers can find health and beauty products created by local black entrepreneurs, as well as posters, postcards, candles, and more.

Buying Time on Greenwood will carry an array of items that are made on Black Wall Street, further supporting the local community. The store is collaborating with the businesses owners,  entrepreneurs, and other organizations and businesses in the area.

The store is set to open on Thursday, February 8th, at 1:00 p.m. Central Standard Time, with a grand opening event scheduled for February 15th, 2024. Operating hours will be from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. daily.

If you’re interested in joining the team, Buying Time on Greenwood is currently hiring Store Clerks. Stop by the store and speak with the Store Manager, Dr. Hall, between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
