FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: ArtistJoeMac to Perform The Greenwood Beat – WFPG’s Juneteenth Poetry Showcase with Powerful Piece “Black Superhero”

Tulsa, OK – June 2025 — The Greenwood Beat – WFPG, Oklahoma’s first woman-owned and Black-owned radio station located on historic Greenwood Avenue, proudly announces that nationally recognized spoken word artist and poet, ArtistJoeMac, will perform his acclaimed piece “Black Superhero” as part of its Juneteenth 2025 Poetry & Spoken Word Showcase.

Known for his emotionally charged delivery and unapologetically Black narratives, ArtistJoeMac is a decorated artist in the world of poetry and spoken word. With multiple national titles under his belt and a reputation for commanding the stage with authenticity and intellect, he brings a unique voice to today’s cultural conversations on identity, freedom, and power.

“It’s important that poetry has a space on the airwaves—especially on platforms like The Greenwood Beat that are rooted in community and legacy,” said ArtistJoeMac. “I’m honored to bring Black Superhero to the Juneteenth stage and even more excited to collaborate with Dr. Angela K. Chambers and Antonio McGlothin, Sr. to help keep poetry and spoken word alive on Greenwood.”

As the station continues to reclaim and amplify Black voices, The Greenwood Beat – WFPG celebrates ArtistJoeMac’s participation as a milestone. His presence reflects the very mission of the showcase: to celebrate freedom, honor Black artistry, and rebuild the cultural legacy of Black Wall Street through creative expression.

In addition to his Juneteenth performance, ArtistJoeMac has committed to an ongoing collaboration with the station, working with Dr. Chambers and Station Manager Antonio McGlothin, Sr. to ensure spoken word continues to have a strong presence on the air. This new initiative will open doors for poets and spoken word artists across the nation to be featured and supported by WFPG.

Submissions for the Juneteenth showcase are still being accepted until Friday, June 14, 2025. This year’s theme is: “What does freedom mean to you?”
