The Greenwood Beat – WFPG put a request out in the spirit of Juneteenth! It’s an EXCITING time for Greenwood and for Angela K. Chambers and Francetta L. Mays, who made history for launching the new, black, female-owned radio station in the Greenwood District! The radio station launched on June 8, 2023 with family, friends, community members and news station KTUL Channel 8 and Fox 23 News Tulsa.

WFPG asked for the support of those connecting to SUPPORT their humanitarian efforts as the begin rolling out programming for the new platform. The request is for a $5 (or more) donation and to share the post. The Original Black Wall Street Marketplace

The Original Black Wall Street Marketplace by the Greenwood Beat, TCLiving Marketing, and GCC Will Launch on June 24th to Connect Small Businesses with the Greenwood Community

Tulsa, Oklahoma – In collaboration with TCLiving Marketing and the Greenwood Chamber of Commerce, the Greenwood Beat has launched the initiative of the Original Black Wall Street Marketplace. Starting June 24th, the marketplace will support and promote local businesses by connecting them with the community. The marketplace will commence every Saturday from 9 AM-1 PM in the Greenwood Courtyard.

The Black Wall Street Marketplace is an initiative to support local entrepreneurs and help them gain more exposure. The marketplace will commence on Saturday, 24 June from 9:00 AM-1:00 PM CST in the Greenwood Courtyard. Then it will recur every Saturday at the same time throughout the summer months.

The purpose of this collaboration between the Greenwood Beat, TCliving Marketing, and GCC is to assist small businesses in increasing their sales. They can reserve a booth and sell products to customers visiting the venue.

To support the cause, the Greenwood Beat radio station will heavily promote the event during its radio programming. The organizers will further promote the event through social media ads, radio ads, TV ads, flyers, and more. This will ensure registered businesses can enjoy better visibility and attract more potential customers to the marketplace.

Interested vendors can reserve their booths by getting registered online at https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c084ca9a82dabf8c52-tobws#/. The first 10 entries will get a special offer to book their spot for only $25.

Event organizers aim to make the marketplace the center of attention and add value to sellers as well as buyers. The Original Black Wall Street Marketplace will bridge the gap between small businesses and the community.

Are you Ready to Host your Own Radio Show?

The Greenwood Beat – WFPG radio station launched on June 8, 2023 and has created opportunity for aspiring radio hosts, DJ’s, poets and etc. to host their own shows. Submissions are being accepted. The radio stations is “As Voice for Greenwood,” with current shows such as Refocused and Informed Radio Talk Show,  Trumpet on Greenwood, The Quiet Storm…Magic After Dark The “Maestro” are shows currently in rotation on The Greenwood Beat – WFPG. More shows are in the process of being added to the programming.

The show currently plays various genres of music 24/7 and will be running 365 days per year. This black female-owned radio station is the  first of its kind in the Historic Greenwood District, A.K.A “The Original Black Wall Street” located in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
