New Series by The Greenwood Beat – WFPG: “Coping Skills for Kids & Teens” Helping Our Youth Choose Peace Over Violence

In today’s world, children and teens are being exposed to violence at younger ages than ever before. Some grow up in environments where fighting is second nature—and sadly, many don’t have the coping tools they need to break the cycle.

At The Greenwood Beat – WFPG, we believe it’s time to change the message.

We’re proud to introduce our new “Coping Skills for Kids & Teens” poster series—simple, impactful tools to help young people:

  • Identify their feelings
  • Calm themselves down
  • Express emotions in healthy ways
  • Ask for help when needed
  • Replace violence with peace and self-control

Too often we hear the phrase, “kids don’t fight like we used to.”

The truth is—they shouldn’t have to fight at all.

  • Fighting is not a rite of passage.
  • It’s not a solution.
  • It’s violence.

We’ve come too far as a society to believe that physical harm is how we handle conflict. If words can’t bring peace, then we teach kids to walk away. If they can’t walk away, we intervene. No child deserves to be hit. No child should have to fear their peers.

This series is designed for:

  • Classrooms
  • Youth organizations
  • Churches
  • Parents and caregivers
  • Counselors and mentors

Let’s push a better message: Teach peace. Teach coping. Teach love.
