Improvements to Our Radio Station: Enhancing Your Listening Experience

At The Greenwood Beat – WFPG, we strive to provide our listeners with the best possible experience. That’s why we recently made some improvements to our website and radio station. However, these changes have resulted in some temporary disconnections on certain platforms.

Instead of dwelling on the downtime, we saw it as an opportunity to enhance our services. Our team rolled up their sleeves and worked tirelessly to bring you a new and improved Greenwood Beat – WFPG.

First and foremost, we have given our website a fresh new look. We believe that a visually appealing and user-friendly interface is essential for an enjoyable browsing experience. With our new design, you’ll find it easier than ever to navigate through our content and discover new music and radio talk shows.

But that’s not all. We have also introduced new functionalities to make your listening experience even better. One of the exciting features we have added is the ability to listen to our station directly on our website. Simply head over to www.thegreenwoodbeat.com and look for the new play button in the Footer on the right. Click on it, and you’ll be able to enjoy our music and radio talk shows without any interruptions.

What sets this feature apart is the ability to rediscover old songs that you may have forgotten about. With just a few clicks, you can find out the name of the artist or the song itself. It’s a great way to reminisce and reconnect with the music that has touched your soul.

However, we understand that some of our loyal listeners prefer using platforms like TuneIn radio app and Apple Music. We want to assure you that we are working diligently to reconnect these platforms to our updated website. We apologize for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your patience as we resolve this issue. Rest assured, updates will be shared as soon as these platforms are back up and running.

In the meantime, we encourage you to continue enjoying our station and all the fantastic music and radio talk shows on our website. We have a diverse range of content that caters to various tastes and interests. Whether you’re a fan of classic hits or are looking for insightful discussions, The Greenwood Beat – WFPG has something for everyone.

We would like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude to all our listeners for their continued support. Your loyalty and enthusiasm inspire us to keep improving and delivering the best possible radio experience. We value your feedback, so please don’t hesitate to reach out to us with any suggestions or comments.

Supporting Black Media Firms: Correcting and Creating History

Supporting black media firms is crucial in correcting and creating history that includes us. Black media plays a vital role in providing information and telling our stories. It sheds light on the other side of history that has not been readily known for generations.

One such black media firm is The Greenwood Beat – WFPG, a pioneering black, women-owned radio station in Oklahoma. This remarkable achievement alone is reason enough for the entire community, city, and state to support it.

WFPG gives a voice to Greenwood, but it also serves as a voice for the community, especially the disadvantaged, by highlighting important issues and facilitating meaningful discussions. The station covers a wide array of topics and shares valuable information. Some shows and music are there for entertainment and feel-good moments, while others delve into more serious matters.

Currently, Dr. Angela K. Chambers and Dr. Francetta L. Mays, the founders of The Greenwood Beat, are running a fundraiser on GoFundMe to seek support for their radio station. They are requesting funds to purchase equipment, software, and memberships for advertising and promotion, with the aim of taking the station to new heights.

Supports can donate, purchase advertising or merchandise or sponsor a show to effort to support and help the station grow! For more information contact the station via email at info@thegreenwoodbeat.com or click on the links below.

Uncovering Injustices in Oklahoma: The Conversation Continues

The internet was buzzing yesterday as many watched various live streaming videos from those attending the event at the Oklahoma State Capitol. Our Chief Operating Officer (COO) and host of the Refocused and Informed Radio Talk Show, Dr. Francetta L. Mays, was present at the event. She, along with others who have been on the frontlines fighting for justice and reform in Oklahoma, witnessed the Wooley family’s struggle for justice.

The justice system failed the Wooley family, and those in power were allowed to get away with cover-ups and misdeeds for far too long. Power is being misused, and it is up to the public to get involved. We must support those who are fighting for the rights and fair treatment of others.

Lawmakers, law enforcement, and those working in the public service industry must be held to a high standard and be held accountable for their actions. The uncovering of injustices in Oklahoma is just the beginning of a larger conversation that needs to take place.

Join us today for the Refocused and Informed Radio Talk Show, where Dr. Angela K. Chambers and Dr. Francetta L. Mays will delve deeper into the issues surrounding the Wooley case and the broader implications for justice and reform in Oklahoma. This is an opportunity to stay informed and be part of the conversation.

Listen live at www.thegreenwoodbeat.com, Apple Music or TuneIn radio app. Refocused and Informed broadcasts every Thursday, 2PM CST. Connect with the show on Facebook.
