Glynn Simmons: A Wrongfully Convicted Man Exonerated in Oklahoma

In a shocking turn of events, Glynn Simmons, a man who was wrongfully convicted in Oklahoma, has finally been exonerated after spending nearly five decades behind bars for a crime he did not commit. This groundbreaking story will be discussed on the popular radio show ‘Flippin’ the Script’ hosted by Francetta L. Mays on The Greenwood Beat – WFPG.

Oklahoma has a dark history of locking up innocent individuals, and Mr. Simmons’ case is just one example of the many lives that have been unjustly affected. He will be joining Francetta El Maze today at 3:00 PM CST to share his harrowing experience and shed light on the flaws in the criminal justice system.

Francetta L. Mays, the Chief Operations Officer for the Greenwood Beat and President of the NAACP Tulsa Branch Number 6143, has been tirelessly fighting against these injustices for years. She remains heartbroken and outraged as Oklahoma continues to defend its position on the death penalty while so many wrongfully convicted people suffer and are caught up.

Tune in to ‘Flipping the Script’ today at 3:00 PM CST to hear Glynn Simmons an another exoneree from Oklahoma discuss their experiences and advocate for reform. You can listen to the show online at www.thegreenwoodbeat.com, or through the Apple Music or TuneIn Radio app.

Walton to Francetta, “I am aware that my daughter used drugs but she was still a person. She still deserves justice.” She went on to give details of her daughter’s “murder” that took place July 4, 2023 at Pioneer Plaza, 901 N Elgin Ave., Apt. 214 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

As of now, the system has failed Knia. Tiffany talks with Francetta about the circumstances surrounding her daughter’s murder. She describe her interaction with the person(s) she believes is “allegedly” responsible for Knia’s death. The crime scene was not processed properly, very little questioning took place and the bloody shirt that was taken off of her daughter before medics responded was NOT taken with authorities.
